After April comes May

We've been very busy these past couple months. We had a BBQ Dinner for our summer camp fundraiser that pulled in $2,000! We are stoked! Money goes to our campers to attend Circle K Ranch in Colorado. When attempting to take 40 plus teens it can get pretty pricey but we've seen the transformations that come from this experience. We try our absolute best for all teens involved with our programs to go.

Here's are some pics from this event:

We also had the privilege to have First Student Ministry in town. This amazing group of students came out and ran a small VBS group here at  Aim Right along with Phoenix Bible Church. They also helped out with things needed to be done around our facility, threw a fun festival and connected with our youth. A really sweet thing they did was built a pergola in honor of Arianna, one of our teens that tragically passed away. Her mom and brothers attended and were in awe of the pergola in memory of their sweet daughter and sister. This group is being used by God in such a way that brings joy where ever they go. Thank you First Student Ministry for coming out, helping out, and being a part of our kiddos to see how God can work through such young and devoted followers of Christ.

They Will Know Us By Our Love

"Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples -- when they see the love you have for each other. " John 13:35 MSG.

This past week our local school was closed, which meant a lot of kids in our neighborhood wouldn't be receiving the free breakfast and lunch that they normally count on. Even in the messiness of this circumstance, God works through it all. This gave us yet another opportunity He's placed us in. We were able to work side by side with other brothers and sisters in Christ and we even had some of our elementary school staff come flip pancakes and help serve food to about 75 kids.

Even practical things such as a warm meal and game of Guess Who are tangible ways that we can represent Jesus to these kids. It doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes it's as easy as showing up and being with them. We don't need a big show or elaborate plans because it's the Holy Spirit living in us that reaches and heals lives. We produce nothing without Him. We just need to have open hands, say yes to God's purposes, and then we get to participate in His pursuit of these kids hearts. We can't think of anything better than that.

We also got the opportunity to serve dinner to our kids in our Kingdom Kids program. The teacher walk out had schools closed for more than a week so we had to make sure our kids went home with a full belly.
