A few photos from the week...and a good blog post

Perhaps you've considered serving as an intern or volunteer with Aim Right, but you're convinced you're too uncool or too old or completely out of touch with the realities teens face today. Check out this blog post from Leneita Fix, a petite blonde who's spent at least 18 years of her life sharing Jesus with kids in the inner city. She's learned that at the end of the day, it's not really not so much about who you are, but Who you're allowing to work through you!

We celebrated Jesus' resurrection at Kids Klub last night. Special thanks to those who donated eggs and candy for the egg hunt and goodie bags!

Overheard this week

  • 5-year-old girl with two paper crosses she had colorfully decorated with markers: "This one is for my dad, and the other one is for Jesus!"

  • 2nd grade boy carrying a notebook: "I'm going to write a letter to my mom. She's in jail."

I failed to get photos of the teaching time and discussion groups at Teen Night on Friday evening, but Darrell spoke about "when your friends become your dates" and highlighted aspects of healthy and unhealthy relationships. Then, these lovely ladies served hot dogs, chips, cookies, and lemonade.

And, in other news, two youth groups are making preparations to join us in June for VBS. We're looking forward to welcoming Berea Mennonite youth back for their second missions trip here, and Pleasant View Mennonite for their first. A local congregation, Paradise Valley Mennonite, blessed us with their gently used curriculum, so Studio GO! Game Show will soon be in session!
